Architecture & Methodology

How TacticByte works:
The evidence-to-match-plan pipeline.

Coaches do not need black-box algorithms or ungrounded statistics. We connect tactical questions to source video frames, human analyst oversight, and rehearsed coaching decisions. Here is our exact engineering methodology.

Six-stage workflow

From raw video to pitch rehearsal in six disciplined steps.

Every step preserves auditability. Findings only progress when an analyst reviews and approves the supporting video evidence.

STAGE 01

Footage Intake

Export standard MP4 or MOV match recordings. The pipeline validates source bytes, checks video integrity, and maps camera intervals without cloud lock-in.

Input: Unmodified broadcast or wide camera file
STAGE 02

Event Sequence Anchors

Key moments (corners, wide free kicks, counter transitions) are anchored to exact source frames and presentation timestamps in bounded 101-frame windows.

Invariant: True PTS timestamps; no estimated FPS
STAGE 03

Evidence Inspection

Spatial tracks and camera homography are evaluated with explicit denominators: visible player counts, calibrated pitch extent, and model uncertainty.

Integrity: Missing data marked explicitly as unavailable
STAGE 04

Analyst Correction & Gate

The human analyst reviews candidate insight cards. They confirm, qualify, or reject claims, amending wording before any head coach sees the findings.

Gate: Unreviewed candidate cards fail closed
STAGE 05

Scenario Rehearsal

Coaches use an interactive board to test Option A and B responses, move players, draw running corridors, and link observed opponent counterexamples.

Disclosure: Illustrative board; not predictive simulation
STAGE 06

Approved Briefing Export

Generate a compact, source-linked opponent preparation briefing for staff and players. Every finding links back to its exact supporting video frames in one click.

Deliverable: Printable / tablet-ready coach brief
Engineering boundaries

What is working today vs future research.

We clearly separate demonstrated software capabilities from future research hypotheses. No fabricated capabilities or unverified claims.

Capability area Working software today Product preview / demo Future research boundary
Opposition Ingest Local single-analyst workbench on loopback; immutable SHA-256 source hashing. Synthetic 101-frame sequences; neutral Teams A–E. Multi-camera automatic synchronisation and enterprise multi-seat cloud.
Pitch Geometry Shot-local homography calibration with reprojection error thresholds (< 0.75m). Visual bird's-eye schematic with explicit uncalibrated status flags. Drone / non-standard broadcast reconstruction without pitch markings.
Tactical Claims Observed spatial features with visible player counts and frame denominators. Candidate insight cards with Accept, Qualify, and Reject revision controls. Predictive outcome modelling or automated game-result forecasting.
Scenario Board Editable coaching board for route drawing and observed clip linkage. Interactive Option A / B comparison saved locally in browser. Unsupervised tactical AI advice or autonomous game management.
